Signatures Magazine is a student developed magazine at RIT and recently won a coveted CSPA Golden Crowd Award.
The Columbia Scholastic Press Association is an organization of student editors and faculty advisors dedicated to upholding a greater quality of collegiate journalism. Every year they hold a contest to judge student run magazines, newspapers, yearbooks, and online publications. This year 1,759 total publications were eligible.
RIT’s Signatures Magazine was one of ten student run magazines to take home the top award: the Golden Crown. This 2008 design was a box that contained four pamphlets. Each pamphlet represented a specific tempo of music with representative content.
This was the first time in over a decade that RIT has submitted something to the Golden Crown Awards. When asked if winning the award has any effect on this years design process, Signatures Magazine faculty advisor John Roche explained, “It means more pressure.”
Signatures Magazine meets every Friday afternoon. Students are welcome to attend meetings and get involved. Currently they need student help to keep their website updated. More information can be found here.

As a former Signatures member and graduate of SPM this truly makes my heart sing! It is great to see the two schools of thought work together and bring recognition to RIT for its multitude of talented students!
