Tony Stuck, originally from Reading, PA, graduated from RIT’s School of Print Media in May of 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in New Media Publishing. Originally intending to enter the School of Film and Animation, Tony found the diversity of the New Media Publishing program perfect for his evolving career goals. While taking classes at RIT, Tony was active in the Open Publishing Lab where he helped brand and market the social networking game “meetu.”

During his time at RIT, Tony held two co-op positions in web development and advertising. At Automation Applications Inc. in Reading, PA, Tony completely redesigned the website focusing on back-end development and Search Engine Optimization (SEO). In the Summer of 2008, Tony worked for 160over90, an up-and-coming advertising agency located in Philadelphia, PA. It was here that Tony got a taste for the advertising industry while continuing his work in web development working in WordPress and Flash.

After graduating in May 2009, Tony enjoyed a summer of portfolio and website development in Orlando, FL, Tony was quickly picked up by a Washington D.C.  based web development startup called Global Thinking. Tony was hired as a web developer and designer and is currently working on both front and back end web development, working with such web languages as PHP, MySQL, Joomla, XHTML, CSS, and Javascript. In addition to working on design and development, Tony also has input on determining the strategy for the company’s clients and will soon get into project proposals, social media integration and generating email campaigns.

Tony’s success in the web development and design market shows the diversity of job opportunities that can be available with a New Media Publishing degree. The integration of web development and flash coding involved in the program allowed Tony to realize his interest and skills in the world of programming.

Tony is looking forward to his advancement in the web development community.
