What we are about…

SPMetc is a website designed to connect prospective and current students, staff/faculty, and alumni with what is going on in the SPM. We hope from our site, you can preview our organizations, guest speakers and presentations, and activities that go on here at RIT. The staff members are all involved with various organizations and groups, hoping to give you an inside look at the School of Print Media. Editor-in-Chief: Elli Vandegrift
Elli Vandegrift is a second year student here at RIT, majoring in New Media Publishing. This is her second year working as Editor-in-Chief. She is also a member of TAGA and PUB, and other organizations within the School of Print Media. Elli plans on studying news and magazine publishing through her next years at RIT. She also enjoys outdoor sports, cooking, and music.

Web-Developer: Alex Mouganis

Alex Mouganis is a third year Graphic Media major at RIT. This is his first year as the SPMetc web developer. He works in the Digital Publishing Center as both an Output Technician and a Customer Service Reprsenitive and often does photography work for clubs within SPM. He is also the secretary of TAGA for the 2008-2009 school year. Alex has several hobbies including adventuring, mountain biking, and playing guitar.

Author: Sean Conklin

Sean Conklin is a second year New Media Publishing student at RIT.  Sean is the Public Relations officer of the PUB organization, a member of the Leadership Institute and Community Service Center, a member of the Allen Chapel Choir, and a member of TAGA.  Sean also works as a student researcher at RIT’s Open Publishing Lab. In his free time Sean enjoys museums, watching independent films, listening to music, and chatting with interesting people.

Author: Steve Mancini
Steve Mancini is a second year student at RIT, majoring in New Media Publishing. This is
his second year working with SPMetc. He is an Alumni Member of Art House and also a
member of TAGA within the School of Print Media. Steve plans to study Color
Management through his next years at RIT.

Author: Adam Sampedro
Adam Sampedro is a second year New Media Publishing student at RIT.  This is his second year working with SPMetc.  Adam is a member of the national graphics fraternity, Gamma Epsilon Tau, and RIT Improv.  He plans to study graphic design and prepress processes in his remaining time at RIT.  Adam’s other hobbies include acting, running, and camping.

    Article idea: Frank Romano is here today. Someone ought to interview him in person or arrange to do an interview online about his recent appearance in the TV series, History Detectives. which runs on PBS/WXXI, Chanel 21. The mystery object turned out to be an intaglio plate used in printing “Take the A-Train,” a tune made famous by Duke Ellington. Frank’s segment was shown locally a week or so ago and was repeated during the week it first appeared. Frank says he’s waiting for video of the piece from the producers of History Detectives.
