On Thursday April 9th PUB in collaboration with the OPL held the third session of the Brain Exchange in which Micah Stupak and Justin Monsees presented the capabilities of an XML workflow within InDesign for publishing. The Exchange opened with a brief presentation by Justin Monsees on the basic structure of XML including the additions of elements and attributes and structuring data based on tagging. Micah Stupak then took over the Exchange demonstrating InDesign’s ability to import XML features and the attached Innovation News JavaScript. Micah demonstrated the process of allowing self created scripts to run features one does repeatedly in InDesign so process can be done more quickly with greater efficiently.
The Brain Exchange will continue to run until the end of the quarter. Free and open to all members of the RIT community. Come join The Brain Exchange!
